Contrary to the title of this post, I actually like the rain. It keeps our fair city from becoming one of those humid wastelands where it’s too uncomfortable to stray from anywhere that has central air conditioning.
That being said, sometimes it’s just too much. I was not expecting rain today, so I did not pack an umbrella. I was also wearing summer-y clothing that was not appropriate for rain, including flip flops. That was remedied after a soggy block long dash down Water Street to find that one last little tourist shop was open, and they sold me a lovely umbrella!!! (well no, it’s a cheap piece of crap, but any port in a storm, haha.) And though it was inconvenient, it was still totally deal-with-able. Hey, it’s Vancouver, right?
BUT I DRAW THE LINE WHEN IT STARTS TO RAIN INSIDE THE OFFICE!!!!!
Along with the multitude of other issues that go along with this particular office space (thank god we’re moving in september) appears to be a faulty ceiling directly above our boardroom. The drip drip drip soon became a steady stream – some electronics were lost, others rescued, but all were unplugged and relocated – and buckets were furiously placed under the many and moving spouts as a whole 2 foot by 4 foot chunk of ceiling just wept and seeped with water.
All I can say is, I’m so glad I’m off tomorrow.
I’ll be thinking of you as I wade through the fishes!
