So I went to the “butt” for the weekend (That’s Abbotsford for those who don’t know) to chill with the parental units. All in all, it was a pretty good weekend.
We went curling with some people from my mom’s work – and my mom and I ended up on the 3rd place team! That garnered us each a 9 can beverage cooler (mine’s purple) – fun times! I also gained a large bruise on my ass, but that’s what happens when you run and slide down a sheet of ice after a couple drinks.
Then I did my taxes. HOO BOY! I’m getting just shy of $1700 back this year – a good thing if I ever saw one! It’s a bit of a nest egg that I could really use right about now, since the whole student loan thing is kickin’ my ass. Maybe one of these days I’ll get a raise, but until then, it’ll be nice to know I’ve got some cash as a backup in case anything happens.
