I don’t really have anything to say, but I thought I’d give a little update and let you all know that the funk lifted on Friday evening. It likely had something to do with the fact that I had “Orientation Day” on Thursday at work, so going back to the actual job on Friday felt like a Monday.
Other than that, the weekend’s been pretty uneventful. I’m sure I could make a few things I did sound exciting, but it just seems too much like work right now.
The blow-by-blow is in the extended entry:
I bought a BBQ. Yay for 3 paycheque months (July). This obviously means that I will be having a get-together with blender drinks and grilled meat in the not-so-distant future. Hopefully I can time it with my dear peanut‘s visit.
I walked/hiked 15k in and around Jericho Beach & Pacific Spirit Park yesterday morning. It was a big training walk for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. The walk felt good, and I’m pretty confident about the physical aspect of the event. The Fundraising requirement, however, terrifies me.
I also hit the Jazz Festival on Saturday afternoon. It was neat to be in Gastown, back in the ol’ stompin’ grounds from the early CT Days. The festival organizers obviously need to take a clue from Montreal though, and supply some more reasons for people to spend the entire day down there (such as food/beverage gardens and other exhibits/activities), other than sitting on the street just listening to the jazz. As cool as the music may be, I just felt the whole thing to seem a bit lacking.
Once the Jazz ended at 8, we headed for the Cambie. Oy. I still fail to see what exactly the lustre is in hanging out there. I did run into some people from SFU though, and we reminisced over a few brews before I turned into a pumpkin and headed for home.
Sunday consisted of a LOT of sitting around doing nothing, and a long mid-afternoon nap.
Tomorrow morning is work, then gym, then VOTING! Please vote. If you don’t like any of your candidates, just write “I vote for Peechie” on your ballot. It’s the right thing to do.
The M-man and I were there too! We saw Devon, but didn’t see you! And I WILL write “I vote for Peechie” on my ballot tomorrow! *lol*
Hey! I was at the jazzfest on Saturday afternoon, too. I didn’t see you though! 🙁
